AF447 Recorder Data Intact, and Retrieved
The BEA has confirmed that they have been able to retrieve the data from Air France flight 447‘s recorders. The French investigators confirmed that the recorders contained readable data, and that they had retrieved “all of the data” from the flight data recorder and “whole recording” of the last two hours of flight from the cockpit-voice recorder.
The crashed A330‘s recorders were retrieved from the deep ocean surface, 23 months after the crash. The flight data recorder was recovered on 1 May while the cockpit-voice recorder was recovered on 3 May.
BEA says that the full investigation will take several weeks, but expects to publish an interim report within the Summer.
