Airbus Exonerated from AF447 Case- REPORT

UPDATE:

The BEA has issued a press release stating that the Le Figaro article is too sensationalist and that no conclusions can be drawn from the investigation’s current state.

UNCONFIRMED NEWS REPORT

Reputed French newspaper, La Figero, has posted an extraordinary report that the French investigation agency BEA has concluded that the Airbus A330-200 aircraft in the AF447 crash was not at fault. Airbus has hence been exonerated and freed from liabilities related to the crash, reports the La Figero via its source.

More details on how Air France and/or its crew is liable for the crash should be revealed today, Tuesday, evening, says the La Figero. As per the report, the investigation and release of the final report, which was expected to take a few months – could now come out as early as by this weekend ( QUOTE: “Le rapport définitif d’enquête du BEA devrait être rédigé durant plusieurs mois mais il est possible que le scénario du drame soit définitivement établi d’ici la fin de semaine.” )

It is unlikely that the BEA had been able to fully reconstruct all the events of the flight this soon, hence it could be either that this report is wrong, or the investigators have found something strongly conclusive from the recordings. If the aircraft and Airbus are not at fault, that could probably mean that the conclusion is related to an external force, such as human error or sabotage.

The Air France flight 447 crashed in the Atlantic on 1st June 2009 and following a costly and extensive undersea search, its flight recorders were recovered from a deep sea-bed on 1st and 3rd of May. The French aviation safety authority, the BEA, yesterday announced that it was able to fully extract the recordings from the recorders.

This blog and its editor strongly dislikes making any speculations without having access to the facts, however it has been known that at the time of the crash, the A330-200 was being flown by the First Officer. This is believed so by the fact that the flight’s Captain’s body was found along with the aircraft’s crew rest area.

Please note that this La Figero report is still unconfirmed.
