An Experiment for Ancillary Fees

Here is a good idea for an experiment:
One of the issues prevailing in the airline industry is the pain involved with ancillary fees. An air travel is a rather fun event. One which is a pleasure. But charging baggage fees when you are minutes from flying is rather painful.
We can learn a lesson from Disney.
Disney’s theme parks cost a fortune to enter. But the charging process is done at least a week before at a booth far far away from the theme park. Your experience at the park will be fun. And you sure will return to the theme park again.

Some airlines already do something similar with baggage fees. In which other creative ways can airlines use this ?
This certainly is an option technologically possible. It makes flying less annoying. It will give your airline an advantage over the competitors.

This is certainly an interesting idea, but could it apply to all fees? How many people know they’ll need that extra bag week’s before the trip? Ancillary fees have become the Susan Boyle of the travel industry. That’s right, they aren’t sexy, but people still love to talk about them. Here is an interesting discussion on the topic – http://carryingon.net/2010/02/17/what%E2%80%99s-the-deal-with-ancillary-fees/
