Bangkok Airways flight skids off runway
A Bangkok Airways flight, PG266, skidded off the runway at Koh Samui ( IATA: USM ) airport at around 1400 local this evening.
The aircraft, an ATR72-500, carrying registration HS-PGL had crashed into the control tower.

It is reported that there were around 70 people onboard. Thai authorities reported that the Captain had died from the accident.
The aircraft in question, nicknamed “Pha Ngan”.
There had been rain at the time of the incident. The aircraft has been first flown in 2001 and is MSN 670. The captain has had 14 years of experience with ATRs.
