Bomb Explosion at Moscow Domodedovo Airport
A bomb explosion took place at Russia’s Moscow Domodedovo airport at about 1430Z today. As per current reports, at least 24 people have perished while at least 30 are injured. Previously it was believed that over 100 may have been victims. Initial reports state that it could be a suicide bomb and more than two members could have been involved.
The explosion is believed to have taken place in the duty free area while the airport authority has stated that the affected may have been from Ukraine, Egypt,
Belgium, Greece, the UK, Germany and Cuba.
Some flights had diverted to Moscow Sheremetyevo while as of now Domodedovo is open and in operation. Security at Moscow has been tightened.
With the news of the attack, Aeroflot’s shares fell by around 4%.
