Emirates to launch Amsterdam passenger service

Emirates Airline will be launching daily service to Amsterdam from 1 May 2010. The flights will be operated with Boeing 777-200LRs and Boeing 777-300ERs.

Schedule as follows

EK145 DXB 0825 – 1330 AMS D
EK146 AMS 1530 – 2359 DXB D

Emirates was reportedly long unable to launch passenger services to AMS with its freighters to AMS having taken all allowed frequencies.

In other news, Cathay Pacific will launch four-weekly passenger flights to Milan from May 2010, with 777-300ERs. CX also serves MXP as a freighter destination.

Amsterdam is the one of the important destination in Europe. Why EK didnt introduce the pax flights to AMS two or three years back, while they introduce other european destinations like Glasgow, Vienna…

They did not have bilateral rights. UAE had bilateral rights for only 7 weekly flights to AMS, which were served in fully by EK’s freighter flights. It appears they have now expanded the bilateral agreement.
