Etihad to resume Colombo

Etihad Airways will resume flights to Colombo in January 2010. The flights will initially operate 4 times weekly.

Etihad previously served Colombo for three years from 2004 to 2007. Colombo was EY’s fourth destination and the first outside Middle East. The flights were launched on 2 Mar 2004 ( thrice weekly aboard A330s ) and were discontinued from 9 Sep 2007 for deploying the aircraft on other routes.

SriLankan is the only other operator on the route, which flies daily, and with whom Etihad codeshares.
