Mihin Lanka receives First Aircraft, Postpones Launch
Mihin Lanka has received its first aircraft, a Boeing 737-800, on a three month lease from Transavia of France.
About the aircraft :

The registration is F-GZHE ( as I had already predicted ), a Boeing 737-8K2, pictured above.
Type : 737-800 ( sub version 8K2, refering to the original owner )
Configuration : 186 in all economy, full capacity
Winglets: Attached, AviationPartners Blended Winglets
Owner: Babcock & Brown Aircraft Management
Vendor: Transavia France
Operator: Transavia France
Operated by Transavia for Mihin Lanka of Sri Lanka, for three months
The aircraft has been subleased to Mihin Lanka ( IATA : MJ ) by Transavia, which has in turn leased it from Babcock & Brown Aircraft Management.
On a further note, Mihin Lanka’s launch, which was due on 15th December and was then scheduled to 21st December has now been postponed until 15th February.
This has been due to inabilities in acquiring operating permissions from Indian authorities following the airline’s failed safety record.
However, the worst thing is that, Mihin has leased this aircraft for three months and is now going to keep it unused for two months .
