SIA delays all A380 flights following QF32 incident
Singapore Airlines is currently delaying all of its Airbus A380 operated flights owing to recommended engine checks following today’s incident with a Qantas aircraft.
Singapore Airlines A380 due to operate SQ345 ZRH-SIN is currently being delayed for six hours for the engine check conducted at Zurich, and is visible in the airport’s web cam.
SIA operates eleven A380s and is one of the other two Rolls Royce Trent 900 powered A380 operators apart from Qantas.
It is not known whether Lufthansa, the other Trent 900 operator, or Emirates and Air France ( with A380s powered by EA GP7200 engines ) are affected.

Our engine manufacturer Rolls Royce and aircraft manufacturer Airbus have advised us to conduct precautionary technical checks on our A380 aircraft, following today’s incident involving another operator’ s A380. Resulting from this development, Singapore Airlines will be delaying all flights operating our A380 aircraft. We will keep affected customers updated and more information will be provided once it is available.
