SriLankan Airlines ( UL ) was planning to launch a thrice weekly CMB-AUH-LHR-AUH-CMB route for the past few months, to start from July.
However, now the airline has cancelled the route.

The reason given is “Cessation of hostilities in Sri Lanka”.

How weird ?

This clearly shows the catastrophe of management going over at this once nice little airline.

What a sad fate for an award winning four star airline.

The airline however, also announced that they will be reconfiguring the Business Class of long-haul aircrafts to accomodate 30 business class seats, which is due to be completed by October.

However I am happy that finally they cancelled the AUH-LHR-AUH route since this could have truly been a suicide for UL as they will simply fail to compete with EY and BA on this route.
The planned DXB-FRA-DXB route seems to cancelled as well.
