SriLankan to launch Moscow flights in September 2011

UPDATE: SriLankan Airlines has brought forward its Moscow flights launch to 15th September 2011. The flights will now operate twice weekly via Dubai on board Airbus A320 aircraft. More info could be found here.

SriLankan Airlines today announced that they will be launching flights to Moscow, Russia for the first time, from 23rd December 2011. The services will operate four times a week via Abu Dhabi, on-board Airbus A330-200 aircraft. An exclusive article on this by yours truly could be found here. The airline is presently finalizing the schedule and will be updated here once confirmed.

The airline had been planning the Moscow launch for quite some time and a an example Moscow flight ( also four-weekly ) was featured on the recent SriLankan schedule update that I suggested.
