A number of stowaways-hidden-in-wheel-well incidents happen each year. In one famous event in 1969, three Cubans attempted to flee Cuba inside the wheel well of an Iberia DC8, where one person safely made the Transatlantic journey to Madrid in the 8hr long flight.
